Hi Anita,

While my clocks were inspired by Qlock2, theirs was the not first word clock. for many years prior to 2009, there were a few Linux screen savers that displayed the time using words, and there was of course the beautiful art piece made by Sam Buxton in Jan 2007 which showed a beaultful word clock http://www.dezeen.com/2007/01/18/sam-buxton-shows-at-kinetica/

Ok, so I found this on Houzz.com, but on the same page is an ad for this one... by a firm claiming it's won awards for them:

http://www.lumens.com/Biegert-and-Funk/search

Help me out - it's so similar that it seems as though someone must have licensed the design from the other... which is it? Yours or theirs?

Hi Vanessa,

All of my clocks operate in 12 hour mode. To operate with 24 hour mode would require some additional words (thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty one, twenty two, twenty three, and twenty four) Which could be consolidated as the words 'thirteen', 'fifteen' and 'twenty' placed before the hour words .

So the display at 15:25 would say "It Is Twenty Five Past Fifteen",
or at 16:25 it would say "It is Twenty Five Past Six Teen"

Hmm - Thats an interesting thought that may well work.

Send me your email to doug@dougswordclock.com and I will have a play with template layouts and send you a sample.

regards,

Doug

hi Katie, The pricing for the clock that is a wall is dependent on what type of wall material you use. I supply the electronics package and you work with a cabinet maker locally (we can't ship a wall :-) ) to make the wall frame and stencil. The electronics package comes in at about $1400AUD. I think that the Brisbane wall ended up costing a total of about $3000

HI Igor, Thanks for your request - I have looked up the charges for you and the extra shipping would be: DHL - $60 or $40 with Australia Post.

I know that importing items into Russia is hard (Customs does not accept deliveries for personal people - only companies) so you micht check with your Customs people to make sure you can import it ok. You can email me directly at doug@dougswordclock.com
