A word clock is a clock that tells the time using words.   In late 2009, I saw the QLOCK2 on a hobbyists web site. I was immediately struck by its beauty, but also by its price!! I decided that I would write an article showing people how they could build their own version. I published my original Word Clock project on Instructables.com. Immediately, I started to get emails from people wanting kits or complete clocks, using my design. After considering how best to make them without infringing on any of the original intellectual property, I have been busy making clocks and supplying kits to people all over the world.

My clocks are hand made, from my own design, and my focus is on helping you to have your own unique timepiece that will be a conversation starter for years to come.

My desire is to help people have their own clocks, so I have simplified the design and from the original Instructables.com article to make them as easy to construct as I can. So if you are a person who loves making things, go for it!.
Alternately, if you are not that handy, don't panic - I am very happy to make you a finished clock.

The Word Clock is fun to own, whether you are making one from scratch, building a kit, or simply enjoying one that I built for you.

And - finally, there is one thing that is for certain,  it is a focal point of any room.

Follow me on Facebook to see the clocks I am making each week Doug's Word Clock.

My most recent clock design made from a vinyl stencil, mounted in a Perspex (Acrylic) enclosure.

Overall size 300mm x 300mm.

One of my early 150mm x 150mm clock modules, mounted in a 300mm x 300mm craftwood frame at Peter's house.

Megan's original prototype clock sitting on her desk at work, mounted on a simple piece of raw pine

I love the way that the copper tarnishes over time. It will be great to see this clock face in 5 years!

So there you have it - Amazing completed clocks, or clock modules that encourage your own creativity, that can look as awesome as you want them to look.

Please feel free to have a browse around this site to see what options may best suit you.

Thank you for looking.
